People seek counselling for many different reasons. I am a Multi-model Integrated Therapist based in Bartley Green, South Birmingham. I have a strong duty of care to my clients and a genuine passion for psycho-therapeutic counselling.
Many of us carry difficult and painful experiences in life, which stay with us beneath the surface. With my training I can help release these experiences in a gentle way, offering my clients a more fulfilling future based on personal growth.
My focus is to help individuals heal, energise, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a safe neutral space, listening without judgement, and customising a treatment plan which embodies unconditional positive regard.
"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; Who looks inside, awakes." Carl Jung
How can psychotherapy and counselling help me?
Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to explore your feelings around an issue or problem that you're keen to resolve. It may not always be possible to speak to loved ones about such personal things. A professional psychotherapist can help you to look at things from an objective viewpoint, teaching you specific coping mechanisms that will help you to take ownership of your life again.
Common subjects that can be addressed within psychotherapy include the following:
Depression & Anxiety
Depression, fear and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that can affect anybody, at any stage in their life. Psychotherapy can give you techniques to challenge negative thought patterns as well as provide you with helpful coping mechanisms to ensure that control is restored.
Trauma, PTSD & C-PTSD
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Psychotherapy can help you to explore your feelings and help you to heal 'on the inside' as well as the outside.
Self-Confidence / Self-Esteem
Self-confidence is about trusting your own judgement and feeling comfortable with your own abilities. Psychotherapy can help you to realise your full potential and be the person you want to be.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD involves intrusive and obsessional thoughts, often followed by compulsive urges. Those with OCD can learn ways to better manage the condition through the help of psychotherapy.
Bereavement and Loss
Loss of any sort can bring up a wide range of emotions including guilt, anger and confusion. Psychotherapy can help you to express your feelings, helping to ease the process and resolve any remaining issues you may have.
Addiction(s)
There are many different types of self-defeating behaviours or substances that people may find themselves addicted to. Psychotherapy can help you to examine the 'pay-offs' that the addiction gives you as well as space to create a plan to control those powerful compulsions.
